Domaine Gayda : Chemin de Moscou 2022
Languedoc - IGP Pays d'Oc - Red Wine -Chemin de Moscou is a great Languedoc wine, this 2022 vintage is a perfectly balanced, elegant wine, matured in oak barrels and foudre.
The colour is deep red with purple highlights. On the palate, the lively, incisive attack bears witness to all the youth of this 2022 vintage. Already complex and promising, the palate combines aromas of black plum, blackcurrant, cocoa and liquorice. Careful ageing in oak barrels produces supple, velvety tannins, allowing this wine to express all its finesse and elegance.
The blend for the 2022 vintage is 68% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 7% Cinsault.
The wine was aged for 21 months in barrel: 1/3 Syrah in new Burgundy barrels for 9 months. Grenache and Cinsault in demi-muids and foudres for 9 months, then a blend of the best barrels of each grape variety followed by 12 months' ageing of the final blend in the same containers before bottling.
"Moscow" is the cadastral name of the plots on the estate. The path leading up from the village through the vines to the winery is the aptly named Chemin de Moscou! The story goes that at the top of the grove, a tree towering above the horizon was known as the "Moscow tree". It was used by Aéropostale pilots to find their bearings. When it was blown over by a storm, we wanted to pay tribute to this beautiful village story through our cuvée.
The advice of 12Bouteilles: Open this beautiful bottle at least 2 hours before serving. It goes perfectly with grilled red meat, a cheese platter or even as an aperitif with a charcuterie platter.
