Jean-Michel Gérin Côte-Rôtie, la Landonne 2022
Rhone Valley - Côte-Rôtie - Red Wine -Côte Rôtie La Landonne 2022 is the grand cuvée of Jean Michel Gerin, a Côte-Rôtie winemaker for 6 generations. This cuvée is extremely rare, since the Gérin family's parcel of 100% Syrah in La Landonne is only 0.4 hectares in size.
It's a must-have Côte-Rôtie cru, undoubtedly one of the largest from the mythical parcel of La Landonne where Jean Michel Gérin vinifies alongside the Guigal family, the Delas vineyards and René Rostaing.
Tasting notes :
Color: Intense red
Nose: notes of ripe black and red fruits and spices.
Palate: Racy, with a rare complexity. The firm tannins are a guarantee of impressive ageing potential, and this rare cuvée can be cellared for 10 years or more.
A 5* cuvée rated 94-96/100 by R. Parker and 95-96/100 by Vinous.
12bouteilles advice: The Gérin family's extremely rare cuvée, this Côte-Rôtie Landonne 2021 is undoubtedly one of the appellation's finest. Forget about cellaring it for a few years, and serve it with game or braised red meat.
About the estate: Jean Michel Gérin comes from a winemaking family that has been established in Côte Rôtie for 6 generations. He is one of the Rhône's great names that we are proud to distribute on 12bouteilles.com. His Côtes Rôties, Saint Josephs and Condrieus are all among the Rhône Valley's most precise and finely-crafted benchmark cuvées.
