Jean-Michel Gérin : Côte-Rôtie Champin le Seigneur 2022

Rhone Valley - Côte-Rôtie - Red Wine -

Cuvée Champin le Seigneur, Côte-Rôtie in the 2022 vintage, is Jean Michel Gerin's signature cuvee.

A perfect Côte-Rôtie, always incredibly elegant, it's one of the appellation's best value-for-money wines.

This cuvée is composed of 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier, with 50% aged in new French oak barrels. It comes from several terroirs mainly located in the north of the appellation.

Tasting notes:

Appearance: Deep ruby

Nose: Intense red fruit and spice notes.

Palate: Rich, balanced and impressively long, with the same aromas as on the nose.

A 5* cuvée rated 94/100 by James Suckling, 90-93/100 by Parker and 17.5 by Jancis Robinson.

12bouteilles advice: one of our favorite Côte-Rôtie wines from the sublime 2020 vintage, impressive for its length, power and balance. Perfect with game, red meat and poultry.

About the estate: Jean Michel Gérin comes from a winemaking family that has been established in Côte Rôtie for 6 generations. He is one of the Rhône's great names that we are proud to distribute. His Côte-Rôtie and Saint Joseph wines are all among the most precise and finely-crafted in the Rhône Valley.
