Jean-Michel Gérin : Condrieu la Loye 2023

Rhone Valley - Condrieu - White Wine -

Condrieu La Loye 2023 is a plot-based cuvée from Jean Michel Gerin in Condrieu.

Like all the house's wines, this cuvée perfectly reflects its terroir and is one of the benchmarks for great Rhône Valley whites. La Loye comes from granite soils where the vines have been planted on terraces for some 25 years. The wine is aged in stainless steel vats, then in demi-muids for one year.

With elegance and finesse, this is a superb expression of the Viogniers from this plot planted a quarter-century ago. A lovely gastronomic white.

Tasting notes:

Appearance: Sublime golden color

Nose: Subtle aromas of apricot and stone fruit.

Palate: Roundness and balance with notes of peach.

12bouteilles advice : this is probably one of Condrieu's finest “lieu dit”, a perfect cuvée from Jean Michel Gerin at a very affordable appellation price. This wine goes perfectly with an aperitif or goat's cheese.

Domaine Jean-Michel Gérin:

From a family of winemakers who have been established in the Côte Rôtie for 6 generations, Jean Michel Gérin is one of the Rhône's great names that we are proud to distribute on 12bouteilles.com. His Côtes Rôties, Saint Josephs and Condrieus are all among the Rhône Valley's most precise and finely-crafted benchmark cuvées.
