Burgundy - Chassagne Montrachet - Red Wine -This Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Morgeot" 2021 is a red wine produced by Domaine Justin Girardin. Made from vines of about 25 years, this 100% Pinot Noir comes from a parcel located in the western part of the Chassagne-Montrachet vineyard, which centuries ago belonged to the monks of the Maizières abbey. Facing southwest, with a very varied clay-limestone soil, this exceptional terroir gives birth to red wines of very high quality, combining power, length and structure.
Tasting notes:
The robe: slightly deep purple
The nose: intense and fruity, with notes of undergrowth
The palate: fleshy and well structured
Present in Burgundy since 1570, Justin Girardin represents today the 13th generation at the head of the family estate of 17 hectares, from Santenay to Savigny-Les-Beaune. Each parcel produces a different wine with its own identity. Vigilant to the well-being of his vines, Justin and his teams work in Biodynamics, and intervene only in good time for the maintenance of the vineyard in the logic of healthy agriculture and always more respectful of its environment.
The advice of 12bouteilles: To be served between 16°C and 18°C, it will perfectly accompany red meats and cheese. It can be enjoyed now and has a potential of 7 to 9 years of keeping.
