Pierre Amiot : Clos de la Roche Grand Cru 2019
Burgundy - Clos de la Roche - Grand Cru - Red Wine -The Clos de la Roche 2019 is a Grand Cru from Domaine Pierre Amiot. It is an extraordinary cuvée from the estate
Spread over 5 plots and 1.2 hectares, its name comes from the topography of the clos “qui est sur la roche”. The other hypothesis is that there may have been a rock there that was associated with a Druidic or Celtic cult. This appellation has been on the Domaine Amiot's menu for four generations.
Terroir
The vines are exposed to the east, south-east levant, between 270 m and 300 m altitude. It rests on brown limestone soils with rocks and gravel. Le Clos de la Roche is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, south of Combottes, it runs alongside Clos-Saint-Denis. At Domaine Amiot, the Clos de la Roche is spread over 5 plots: two plots are located at the top of the slopes at a place called “Monts luisants”, one plot in the center on the “Fremières” and two plots at the bottom of the slopes. known as "les Mochamps" and "les Chabiots".
This Grand Cru is one of two produced by the estate. Unavoidable !
Tasting note:
Color: ruby to garnet.
Nose: aromas of truffle, cherry, rose, spices, violet, nuts and cranberries. Taste examination: Powerful and balanced. It is a wine of great complexity, with exceptional length.
Food and wine pairing:
This wine goes very well with red meats, game in sauce and mature cheeses. It is best enjoyed between 16 ° C and 18 ° C. Wait at least 10 years on great vintages before you can appreciate it.
