In this 2023 vintage, Rapet Père & Fils: Aloxe Corton distinguishes itself with its ability to elegantly blend the freshness of cassis and currant aromas with powerful animalistic notes. Sourced from a clay-limestone terroir dating back to the Oxfordian, this Burgundy Pinot Noir offers an authentic and refined expression. Here is the tasting we conducted:
The Appearance: brilliant red with deep reflections.
The Nose: an expressive bouquet where fresh red fruits – cassis and currant – mingle with a subtle animalistic hint.
The Palate: elegant and structured, with a balanced tannic texture that reveals a persistent and harmonious finish.
This 2023 vintage from Rapet Père & Fils is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, hand-harvested from carefully selected plots. The traditional winemaking, carried out in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and regular pump-overs, allows for optimal extraction of aromas. The aging process, lasting 12 to 18 months in oak barrels – blending new and used barrels – endows the wine with its complexity and finesse.
Skillfully combining tradition and modernity, the Aloxe Corton 2023 cuvée embodies the harmony between Burgundian authenticity and an innovative winemaking approach. Its subtle balance between fruity freshness and aromatic power, as well as its excellent quality/price ratio, make it a characterful wine to be discovered without moderation.
12bouteilles' Recommendation: Best enjoyed at a temperature of around 16-18 °C. This red pairs perfectly with roasted meats, stewed dishes such as braised beef, leg of lamb, or even guinea fowl, revealing all its richness and aging potential.
