This Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru 2022 is a cuvée produced by Domaine Robert Groffier in the Bonnes-Marnes appellation. The flagship of the domaine, this Grand Cru, 100% pinot noir, is a rare wine due to the small quantities produced. Produced on stonier soils than Chambolle, it comes from an 8-hectare parcel where the vines have reached an average age of 40 years and thrive on shallow brown limestone soil.
Tasting notes:
Appearance: garnet-red
Nose: subtle, with complex aromas of black fruits, as well as hints of licorice and white pepper.
Palate: rich, unctuous, with a fine aromatic palette and a persistent finish.
12bouteilles advice: This wine can be enjoyed from 2030 onwards and will keep for over 15 years. Served at a temperature of 15°C, it is the perfect accompaniment to duck breast, veal liver or poultry.
Domaine Robert Groffier et Fils was founded in the 19th century by Frédéric Groffier. The vineyards are located in the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. Each generation is committed to exploiting the terroir with the utmost respect for the soil and nature. Since 2005, Nicolas Groffier has run the family domaine. He practises meticulous viticulture, working vine by vine. All this enables the domaine to produce great wines for laying down, requiring around ten years in the cellar to reveal their full taste potential.
