Domaine Robert Groffier : Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Hauts-Doix 2022
Burgundy - Chambolle-Musigny - 1er Cru - Red Wine -This Chambolle Misigny 1er Cru les Hauts-Doix 2022, is a cuvée produced by domaine Robert Groffier, in the Chambolle Musigny appellation. The flagship of the domaine, this 1er Cru, 100% pinot noir, is a wine of the highest quality. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, grow on sandy, clay-limestone soil. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the vinification is carefully controlled: partial de-stemming and cold maceration for around 7 days, aged on lees in new barrels for around 1 third of production, no fining or filtering.
Tasting notes:
The Robe: garnet-red
Nose: floral, red fruit notes of cherry and raspberry, with a hint of pepper.
The palate: rich, unctuous, with great aromatic precision, a fine tannic structure and a persistent finish.
The advice of 12bouteilles: This wine can be enjoyed from 2030 and kept for over 15 years. Served at a temperature of 15°C, it is the perfect accompaniment to duck breast or slow-cooked veal.
Domaine Robert Groffier et Fils was founded in the 19th century by Frédéric Groffier. The vineyards are located in the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. Each generation is committed to exploiting the terroir with the utmost respect for the soil and nature. Since 2005, Nicolas Groffier has run the family domaine. He practises meticulous viticulture, working vine by vine. All this enables the domaine to produce great wines for laying down, requiring around ten years in the cellar to reveal their full taste potential.
