This Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Seuvrées 2022, is a cuvée produced by domaine Robert Groffier, in the Gevrey Chambertin appellation. The flagship of the domaine, this 1er Cru, 100% pinot noir, is a rare wine due to the small quantities produced. Nicolas Groffier, who manages the family estate, favors the most natural vineyard management possible, with manual harvesting and an average vine age of 40 years.
Tasting notes:
The Robe: garnet
Nose: notes of wild berries, black cherry and sweet spices.
The palate: lots of finesse, with notes of wild berries, velvety with ripe tannins that will soften with age.
The advice of 12bouteilles: This wine can be enjoyed from 2026 onwards and will keep for over 10 years. Serve at a temperature of 15°C, with duck breast, veal liver or poultry.
Domaine Robert Groffier et Fils was founded in the 19th century by Frédéric Groffier. The vineyards are located in the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. Each generation is committed to exploiting the terroir with the utmost respect for the soil and nature. Since 2005, Nicolas Groffier has run the family domaine. He practises meticulous viticulture, working vine by vine. All this enables the domaine to produce great wines for laying down, requiring around ten years in the cellar to reveal their full taste potential.
