The Blanc d'Ogier 2022 cuvée from the Stéphane Ogier estate is made from the following three grape varieties: 50% Viogner, 25% Marsanne and 25% Roussane on a granite terroir. The grapes are harvested by hand on a plot-by-plot basis, and sorted on a sorting table in the winery. The wine is aged for 10 months in barrels and vats on fine lees.
Tasting notes:
Colour: golden with brilliant highlights.
Nose: Subtle notes of orchard fruit and white flowers.
On the palate: The flavours present on the nose are accompanied by a nice fatness with a greedy and mineral finish.
12bouteilles advice: The Cuvée Blanc d'Ogier 2022 reveals authentic aromas that will be even more appreciable after 2 to 3 years' ageing. It is perfect with blanched meats or fromage frais.
The Stéphane Ogier estate: Located in Ampuis, a famous village in the Côte Rôtie appellation, the estate covers 18 hectares, 3.5 hectares of which are among the finest plots in the appellation. The estate has been a family affair since 1983, with Stéphane joining the domaine in 1997, taking over from his father. In 2015, the estate was renamed in his name to highlight all the expertise of this outstanding winemaker.
