Domaine Tempier - Bandol Rouge "Lulu & Lucien" 2022
Provence - Bandol - Red Wine -Discover Domaine Tempier Red cuvée "Lulu & Lucien" vintage 2022. This great Bandol appellation wine is a blend of several grape varieties: mostly Mourvèdre, complemented by Grenache and Cinsault, and a small proportion of Carignon and Syrah. Several parcels in cooler parts of the vineyard are highlighted in this wine. The terroir is composed of clay-limestone and marl-sand soils. Aged for a minimum of 18 months in casks, this is a great red wine for ageing in Provence.
Tasting notes :
Appearance: deep red with purplish highlights.
Nose: aromatic bouquet of ripe black fruit (blackcurrant, blueberry), with notes of undergrowth.
The palate: clean attack evolving into a robust structure with high-quality tannins. Long finish marked by mentholated notes.
12bouteilles advice: This great Bandol appellation wine can be drunk from 2026 onwards and cellared for at least 10 years. It goes perfectly with grilled meats, rabbit with prunes or stuffed peppers.
At Domaine Tempier, the key words are conviviality, simplicity and know-how, so that everyone works hard to produce great Bandol wines. Working in Biodynamic viticulture since 2013, Daniel Ravier is now the estate manager. At Tempier, respect for terroir and plants is a priority. The fifty hectares of vineyards are located in the heart of the Bandol appellation, divided into several parcels. The vines are old, and sometimes very old, the objective being quality, not quantity.
