Domaine Thierry Mortet : Bourgogne Aligoté 2019
Burgundy - Gevrey Chambertin - White Wine -This Bourgogne Aligoté 2019 from Thierry Mortet is a lightly-priced aligoté monocépage, an excellent value in Burgundy. It is produced from a single plot of Bourgogne Aligoté vines representing an area of 25 ares planted on clay-limestone soil with the presence of white marl. It is 25 years old and located in the commune of Daix on the Côte de Dijon. Aged in vats for 8 months, this is a micro-production with an average of only 2000 bottles per vintage. A very fine organic white from Burgundy.
Tasting notes:
The robe: limpid gold
The nose: Aromas of grapefruit, green apple and citrus, offering a sensation of freshness.
The palate: Freshness predominates, a well-balanced wine that makes you want to open a second bottle.
The advice of 12Bouteilles: This Bourgogne Aligoté 2019 from Thierry Mortet will be perfect for an aperitif to seafood dinner. Ready to drink and enjoy within 2-3 years of bottling, some enthusiasts like to keep wines a little longer...
Domaine Thierry Mortet was founded in 1992 following the dissolution of Domaine Mortet Charles & Fils, which belonged to Thierry's father and was shared between him and his brother Denis. Today, they farm 8.5 hectares in the centre of the village of Gevrey Chambertin, between Dijon and Nuits-Saint-Georges, where the vines are cultivated using integrated farming methods. The domain's aim is to offer elegant, limited-production wines that sincerely express the characteristics of the variety of Burgundy's greatest terroirs.
