E.Guigal : Château d'Ampuis Côte Rôtie 2014
Rhone Valley - Côte-Rôtie - Red Wine -The E.Guigal estate seduces us again with this Château d'Ampuis 2014.
Blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Viognier, the vines used to produce this Château d'Ampuis 2013 were already planted in the 16th century.
This Côte Rôtie wine is composed, among others, of 7 exceptional terroirs coming from the Blonde Coast: Le Clos, La Garde, La Plantée and the Côte Brune: La Pommière, Le Pavillon Rouge, Le Moulin, La Viria ... This is the uniqueness and greatness of this magnificent wine from the Rhone Valley.
This 2014 vintage has a beautiful dark and deep color with mauve reflections. The nose, intense and expressive, releases aromas of spices and black fruits with delicate notes of wood. Tannic and racy, the palate expresses aromas of prunes, blackberries and vanilla. A powerful wine, concentrated and structured with very strong tannins but softened by an extended display under wood.
The advice of 12bouteilles: Château d'Ampuis 2014 is an aging wine with impressive potential, around 20 years old. Serve between 16 ° C and 18 ° C with game, red meat or cheese. Open at least one hour before tasting.
The 2014 Côte Rôtie Chateau d’Ampuis shows the more open, ready-to-go style of the vintage and reveals a healthy purple color, smoky black currant fruits, charcoal, and roasted meat aromas and flavors; it has medium to full-bodied richness and a charming, elegant character - Wine Advocate 94/100
