Montlys Côte Rôtie 2022 is a red wine produced by Domine François Villard, in 100% Syrah on decomposed quartzite schist soils and with 20-year-old vines. Produced in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, Montlys is aged for 18 months in casks, 40% of which are new and 60% of which are 2 to 4 years old.

Tasting notes:

Colour: Deep red

Nose: Aromas of red fruit, raspberry and Morello cherry.

On the palate: Silky texture and a well-integrated tannic structure, the flavours of red fruit and morello cherry are expressed with intensity and elegance, underpinned by balanced acidity that adds freshness and good length.

12bouteilles: This wine should be drunk within a few years, and will go perfectly with roast venison, pheasant casserole or tartiflette.

The François Villard estate was created in 1989 with the planting of the first vines. Today, the estate has 42 hectares divided into 6 appellations. 23 cuvées are produced at the estate, with a total of 450,000 bottles. The vines are worked entirely by hand, and the estate has been certified organic since August 2022.
