In this 2024 vintage, Gérard Bertrand’s Gris Blanc rosé wine (with a screw cap) asserts itself as an iconic rosé of IGP Pays d’Oc, primarily crafted from Grenache. Here is our tasting note:
The Color: a very pale pink, almost crystalline, accented by gray and white hues.
The Nose: delicately fruity, showcasing subtle aromas of small red fruits.
The Palate: fresh and lively, carried by a subtle effervescence that enhances the fruit. The elegant finish lingers on especially refreshing mineral notes.
This 2024 vintage of Gris Blanc hails from vines ideally located in the Tautavel area of Roussillon, where Grenache fully expresses its aromas under a gentle climate with optimal sunshine. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo direct pressing. To preserve aromatic delicacy, every step is performed under carbon dioxide, followed by a low-temperature fermentation at about 15–18°C. A few weeks of lees aging perfects its texture before bottling.
Elegantly crafted, this Gris Blanc is a prime example of a modern rosé—distinctly fresh and airy in style. Its inherent lightness and delicate fruit character make it a wine to enjoy throughout the year.
The 12bouteilles Advice: Serve chilled, around 10–12°C, either as an aperitif or with shellfish and crustaceans, Mediterranean salads, Asian dishes, oven-baked fish, and other spicy recipes (tajines, Thai curries). Thanks to its screw cap, this rosé is easy to enjoy and preserves its quality under the best possible conditions!
