The Clicquot house born in 1772, thanks to Philippe Clicquot.

Coming from a family of bankers and textile traders, Philippe Clicquot bought vines and founded "Clicquot wine trading" with the ambition to sell internationally. The first Champagne of Clicquot is sent to Venice.

A few years later, Philippe Clicquot leaves the house to his son François Clicquot.

In 1805, François Clicquot dies prematurely, his widow, Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin, decides to take the management of the family business and becomes one of the first businesswomen of his time. Madame Clicquot created the first known vintage in Champagne in 1810, an innovation in this era.

In 1877, the house innovates again by dressing its bottles with a young label, a distinction that will quickly become a hallmark of the house.

In 1986, the house joined the Louis Vuitton group which will become the following year the LVMH group.

Today, the house has one of the most important vineyards of Champagne with 390 hectares of vineyards of exceptional quality distributed in 12 of the 17 grands crus and 20 of the first 44 crus of the appellation.

The house has one third of the area's wine growing area, 86% of the vineyards of the house are classified. The Veuve Clicquot vineyard comprises 47% Chardonnay, 36% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier where the vines benefit from the best sunshine. The encépagement is determined for each parcel according to the soil, the climate and the exposure.

The house is quickly committed to a eco-responsible production at each stage of development of its bottles.

Among the Veuve Clicquot Champagne range, we have selected Champagne Brut Carte jaune, the symbol of the house since 1772.

A Champagne of perfect balance between powers, finesse and complexity with delicious aromas of white fruits and dried with vanilla and toasty notes.

To be enjoyed as an aperitif, with a foie gras or a seafood platter, this Champagne is always a true delight, a classic to discover absolutely if it is not already done!

We also selected 2008 Vintage Brut Champagne, generous and harmonious bubbles that reflect the complexity of the weather and climate of the year. The 2008 vintage is of exceptional quality, with a very good aging potential.
